In 2007, he joined the Joint Research and Development Lab (JDL), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, as a research assistant. From 2009 to 2012, he was with National Engineering Lab for Video Technology, Peking University, Beijing, as a research assistant. In 2011, he spent half a year at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University, Canada, as a visiting student.
